Tom Cruise no longer feels the need for speed.
The Hollywood star who’s married to actress Katie Holmes, with whom he raises adorable daughter Suri is said to have turned down an approach to reprise his role as hotshot pilot Maverick in a Top Gun sequel but has given his blessing for a reboot of the franchise.
“The plan was to re-release the original movie then use the interest in that to help fuel a sequel with Tom in a supporting role,” reveals a movie insider.
“Tom loves the idea but it doesn’t look like he is going to be a part of it in any way. The new Top Gun will now be a reinvention focusing on a new set of young recruits.”
