Willem Dafoe doesn't need a stuntman
Willem Dafoe is threatening to put stuntmen out of work.
The Platoon star says that at 56 he still insists on doing all his own stunts unless he really has to step aside.
“I like to do everything because it’s really not fun to have someone come in and do all that stuff,” says Willem who plays a trapper in new movie The Hunter.
“You want to be able to do it yourself. I think in this movie there was one scene where I fall about 15ft but I wasn’t allowed to do that. You fall on boxes and I probably could have done it. The truth is the stunt guy could do it better but the rest of it I did.”
Dafoe has previously told how his first job was binding together adult magazines.
“My first job as a teenager was as a binder of Penthouse and Hustler magazines,” he said.
“It sounds exciting, but actually it was just a typical Midwestern factory job.
“Everything just went by in a constant flow of magazine pages.
“I did not look at the pictures, not even one. It could just as easily have been National Geographic and Popular Mechanics.”
